Karst Synthesis paper at Pacific Graphics
October 26, 2021
Our paper Synthesizing Geologically Coherent Cave Networks has been accepted to Computer Graphics Forum and presented at Pacific Graphics 2021.
We aim at generating realistic cave networks, taking into account a variety of geological factors such as inception horizons, fractures and permeability. We also reconstruct the detailed geometry of the tunnels using
an implicit modelling approach, introducing new primitives for the tortuous paths found in karstic networks.
This work is the result of a collaboration with Pauline Collon from the Université of Lorraine, who is working on research topics such as numerical geology and hydrogeology.
