ADDIS ABEBA: I was invited to give a seminar and a set of courses in October 2003 at the University of Addis Ababa.


ALGIERS: one of my previous PhD student, Dr. Yassine Djouadi (PhD Subject) is working at the Houari Boumedienne University of Algiers at the Computing Department.


BANGKOK: I was invited to give a seminar at the Asian Institute of Technology in May 1995. M. Duong Quoc Nghi asked me to report his Phd dissertation on April 2000.


BEYROUTH: I was invited to give a Master course the Lebanese University of Beyrouth in January 2010.


BOMBAY: I was asked by United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), in May 15-16, 1995, during the Citynet project to make a mission for needs assessment of the urban information systems of
- Bombay Municipality Corporation
- Bombay Metropolitan Region Development Authority (BMRDA), and
- Government of Maharashtra State, Public Works Department.


CHETUMAL: I was invited by Dr. Manuel Pech Palacio to give a conference on April 26, 2007 during the "VII SIMPOSIUM INTERNACIONAL EN CIENCIAS". in the Instituto Tecnologico de Chetumal


CHIANG MAI: I was commissioned by United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), within the EC-ASIA Municipal Environment Cooperation Programme (MECP) sponsored by the European Communities (Asian Division) to make a seminar on Urban Information Systems both at the University and at the Municipality of Chiang Mai, Thailand, on 15-17 January 1996. This was done with Prof. Dr Suporn Koottatep, Director of the Department on Environmental Engineering of this University.


CONSTANTINE: one of my previous Phd student, Dr Mohammed Khireddine KHOLLADI (Rachid) (PhD subject) is director of the Computing Institute of the University of Constantine.

I gave several seminars in April 93.


FEZ: I was invited in January 2002 and October 2002 to give seminars in GIS and multimedia databases at the University of Fez, Dhar Mehraz Faculty of Sciences, Department of Computing. Here I am working as a consultant for the inception of a Laboratory in Computing and Applied Maths for Tourism. I came again in June 2006 for a consultation about the creation of a Computing Department for a fresh school in engineering (ENSAF).

I went again in October 1 and 2, 2010 for the defence of two PhD's.


INCHON: one of my previous Phd student Dr. Mee Young Sung invited me to give a seminar on July 23, 1998.


JERUSALEM: I was invited by the Israeli Ministry of Interior to give a talk during the Conference on Municipal Information Systems, Jerusalem, on May 21-24, 1990.


LA PLATA: I was invited several times at La Plata (Buenos Aires) National University to give seminars, in November 1997, in all Februaries from 1999 to now by Dr Gustavo Rossi , director of LIFIA, and Silvia Gordillo. Silvia Gordillo and Catty Mostaccio have decided to make PhD under my responsiblity on Field-orientation. Silvia has submitted her Phd in October 2001, and Catty in November 2003.


MEXICO: I gave a seminar on July 2006 at the Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana.


MOHAMMEDIA: A collaboration was made with Pr. Azedine Boulmakoul of the Faculty of Science and Technology of Hassan II University of Mohammedia, with a 4-year grant of the French-Morrocan Council from 1996. The subject was to develop a prototype of a computer system for the management of hazmat transport in the region of Mohammedia. A second was starting in 2001 for the monitoring of collective transportation.
I gave several courses and seminars in this university. And several papers were written with Pr. Boulmakoul.

With him, Tullio Tanzi and Sylvie Servigne, we first pioneered telegeomonitoring.


MONTEVIDEO: I gave a seminar at the Universidad de la República in June 2008.


OUJDA: I was member of the State Doctorate Commission of Farid EL Hebil in February 21, 1998 at the University of Oujda, Morocco.


PUEBLA: A collaboration was decided with Dr. David Ricardo Sol Martinez for designing a prototype of a telegeomonitoring system for volcanoes, at the University of Las Americas at Puebla.

I gave seminars in November 2000, in August 2001, and in November 2002.

Two joint PhD's, (Manuel Pech Palacio and Claudia Zepeda) were beginning in autumn 2002, and defended in December 2005.

On July 2006, I gave two seminars at the Tec de Monterrey, Campus of Puebla. Again in Juanary 2009, I gave a two week course.


PUSAN: Dr Ki Joune LI, one of my previous PhD student is now at the Computer Science Department of the Pusan National University.

We have decided together to work on auditory urban information systems to struggle noise pollution. He invited me to give seminars in February 1997, and in July 1998.

Myoung-Ah Kang from Pusan is now making her PhD in Lyon on this subject.


RABAT: One of my previous PhD student, Dr. Mohammed El Makhchouni is now at ENIM (National School of Mines). He invited me to give a seminar in December 1996.

Said Ouatik El Alaoui after several stages in Lyon, has submitted his dissertation on July July 27, 1999, with Dr. Salma Mouline El Fallah of the University Mohammed V at Agdal, Faculty of Sciences in collaboration with LISI.

I gave a seminar on November 1, 2002 at the National Insitute for Post and Telecommunication (INPT).


SAO PAULO: Mariana Giannotti went to LIRIS during her PhD. I was in her PhD Committee on October 27, 2010 at the University of Sao Paulo.


SEOUL: I was invited to give a seminar at the Seoul National University in July 1998, and for the Ssangyong Company in February 1997.


TASMANIA: I was asked to report the PhD Dissertation of Paul Crowther of the University of Tasmania, Australia in January 1999, after some contacts with Dr J.Hartnett of this University. She is with the Artificial Intelligence and Spatial Analysis Research Group of the School of Computing.


TOKYO: I was invited to give a talk September 30, 1999 at the University of Tokyo, Center for Spatial Information Science.


TUNIS: For the Tunisian administration, I was asked to make the feasibility study of the Computing Department of a new school of engineering, named INSATT (Institut National des Sciences Appliquées et de la Technologie de Tunis. I gave a seminar at INSATT on December 13, 2002.

I came again in September 2009 and in Jne 2010 for the several PhD committees.


VALPARAISO: for the Federico Santa Maria Technical University of Valparaiso, I was invited to give a seminar in August 1988.


YAOUNDE: I was invited two times to give courses at the National Polytechnic School of Yaounde, in February 1990 and in April 1991.
