Teaching

Teaching

Since September 2023 I have been teaching at IUT Lyon 1 on the Doua campus, after thirteen years at IUT de Bourg-en-Bresse between 2010 and 2023, first as a temporary teaching and research assistant and then as an Associate Professor. I have also taught in the computer science department of Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, at both undergraduate and graduate level.

Responsibilities

Department council. I have sat on the Computer Science Department Council of the IUT since October 2023. The role puts me at the centre of the department’s life, from day-to-day administrative work to the programme review committees.

BUT 3 and the DEVOPS degree. Since 2023 I have co-headed the third year of the BUT in the Networks and Administration track, covering three groups, and I run the DEVOPS degree, one group. Both are taught as apprenticeships.

METINET professional degree. From 2013 to 2017 I headed the METINET professional degree, specialised in the design and management of websites. The role covered the recruitment of apprentices, the recruitment and management of professional lecturers, timetabling and the organisation of the curriculum.

C2I. From 2010 to 2018 I ran the organisation of the C2I computing and internet certificate at IUT de Lyon, on the Bourg-en-Bresse campus.

Student projects. Since 2017 I have been responsible for organising the computer science department’s student projects, coordinating teachers and students from the collection of subjects through to the final defences. In that role I built the web platform the department uses to publish subjects, allocate them, follow weekly progress and collect deliverables; around 120 people use it each year.

Industry relations. Since 2024 I coordinate the department’s relations with companies, which covers internships, apprenticeship contracts, the presentation of our programmes and the organisation of the IUT job dating.

Internships & apprenticeships

Every year I follow students inside companies, on end-of-year internships or on apprenticeship contracts, across the METINET, IEM and DEVOPS professional degrees and the third year of the BUT: three to five internships and two to five apprentices a year since 2011. The role covers regular progress meetings, the assessment of the follow-up documents, the defence panels, and mediation when a placement turns difficult.

Since 2026, and for the first time, some of these students are on entrepreneurship placements, setting up their own company instead of joining one, which changes what the follow-up has to assess.

Doctoral and research supervision is on the research page.
