Research Area:
My research activity is in Computer Graphics, more specifically in the field of 3D reconstruction from various sources, mainly medical imaging, but not exclusively. The modeling of soft (or deformable) objects that we propose is generally based on discrete and, more recently, continuous models. The integration of multi-source information in these triangular or tetrahedral meshes enables us to simulate their deformations, while respecting their natural behavior
The aim is to provide computerized tools to guide medical staff in their diagnosis or during a treatment operation. After the operation, the simulation models can be used to validate the treatment. The original feature is the integration of rheology into the discrete models, to offer an alternative simulation of deformations that can be used during the operation, as opposed to conventional finite element methods, which are accurate but more demanding, especially when non-linearity conditions are required.

About the author...
I graduated from the INSA-Lyon, in the Computer Science dpt. Then, I obtained my PhD in 1999, in Computer Graphics. Since then, I am "Maître de Conférences" at the LIRIS, currently in the Dynamical Mesh - ORIGAMI team.
I am teaching Computer Science, in the Computer Science Dpt, IUT Lyon1, located in Bourg-en-Bresse, where I have been in charge of the departement for 3 years (2008-2011).
